To kick off, I've got a little tale of awesomeness from Monday night... I went down the street to see Flying Lotus playing with Battles. I showed up just before he hit the stage and there wasn't a whole lot of atmosphere in there since it was only about 8:30pm and he was on first. Well that didn't last long! Lotus came out to a scattered applause and immediately began getting the place moving with his unique sound and infectious dance moves.

By 9:30 he was swapping vodka with the front rows and the party was jumping. He even seemed genuinely humbled by the all-ready-standing-ovation he got at the end, "Oh, like that?!" I've never seen a room go from dead to raving so quickly; one of the best gigs of the year right there.
